St Thomas is undertaking a fundraising campaign for a new roof as evidenced when there is a heavy rain and leaks are found in various places. The church has long been part of Morden’s history and is the oldest continuously worshiping and serving church in the community. It is estimated that the entire cost of the project will be approximately $30,000.
St. Thomas is holding multiple fundraisers in the next 10-12 months to raise the money. Part of the funds needed have been approved in the way of grants from the Anglican Foundation of Canada as well as the Diocese of Rupert’s Land – however an additional $15,000 is still needed.
Among the events being planned is a Pulled Pork Dinner on June 19 as well as the kick off to a project called “Buy a Bundle”. People can make a donation – in various levels – towards the shingles and permanently record their memories of St. Thomas in a book entitled “Friends of St. Thomas”.

The Pulled Pork Dinner was a huge success – serving 150 people. Thanks to all those who attended as well as those who spent many hours preparing and serving.
